Not only is play a major influence on child development, for children and youth dealing with trauma, play and physical motion brings peace and calm. This Thanksgiving, as a part of the NFL’s Football Families campaign, Ford partnered with ACH to refurbish the outdoor space at our Wedgwood Campus with awesome new enhancements! After a week of construction and the assistance of the Ford F-Series lineup, the Dallas Cowboys arrived to show our kiddos all they can look forward to:
- A state-of-the-art kitchen with built-in grill and refrigerators
- A splash pad that’s perfect for hot, Texas summers
- A football field complete with regulation goal post
- A pavilion, extra shade areas, and outdoor lighting
Dallas Cowboys Michael Gallup, Allen Hurns and Tavon Austin came with even more surprises: Cowboys apparel and merchandise, Cowboys game tickets…and a brand-new Ford Transit! The surprise reveal was made during half-time on KDFW FOX 4's Thanksgiving Day broadcast of The Cowboys' game.
ACH Child and Family Services appreciates all that Ford, the NFL and The Cowboys have done to help the children and families in our community.
What is the Wedgwood Residential Campus? ACH’s Wedgwood Campus offers safe, stable and nurturing homes for children and youth ages 5-17 who are unable to live with their families. Basic and therapeutic services help children, youth, and their families through crises and promote family reunification where possible.
We’re ACH, and we’re all about protecting children and preserving families. ACH Child and Family Services, a Fort Worth, Texas-based nonprofit agency, brings needed resources and skills to children and families struggling with life’s challenges. Some of our 14 programs keep children and families together while others provide a healing home for children who can't live with their families. Our vision is for families to thrive and children to experience safety, hope and love.
Our children and youth deserve continuous improvement. With over a century of experience, ACH has always adapted to the needs of the community to give children a better tomorrow. That’s why we never stop improving—and why we continually need improvements. You can help give a child a brighter tomorrow by donating today.
