Treatment Services

Treatment services provide a caring, stable, and safe environment for youth who have been abused, neglected, or have experienced a family crisis.

ADOPTION

ACH partners with Child Protective Services to find adoptive families for children. ACH provides services for families until the adoption is final. ACH also provides post-adoption support and referral services to families, as needed.

Service Area: The service area for licensing families is CPS Region 3 (Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Fannin, Grayson, Hood, Hunt, Johnson,  Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise counties). However, children are matched from anywhere within Texas, with families approved by ACH.

BEHAVIORAL CARE

The behavioral care program includes therapeutic residential services for children, ages 4-12, with moderate to severe behavioral challenges. This program provides safe and structured residential care that teaches adaptive behaviors, supports successful child development, and promotes family reunification where possible.

FOSTER CARE

Foster Care provides services for children, ages 0-17, in the conservatorship of the state of Texas. ACH recruits, trains and licenses families to provide therapeutic foster care. Our foster parents are a vital part of a team of professionals working to provide the best possible outcomes to the children we serve. ACH provides a full range of supportive services to meet the diverse needs of foster families and the children they care for, including access to many other ACH programs.

Service Area: CPS Region 3 (Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Fannin, Grayson, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, and Wise counties). ACH also partners with Our Community Our Kids in Foster Care Redesign for Region 3b (Erath, Hood, Johnson, Palo Pinto, Parker, Somervell Sand Tarrant) to ensure the best possible placements are found for children who cannot reside with their biological families.

SUMMIT PROGRAM

Summit is an innovative crisis stabilization and respite program designed to serve youth, ages 10-17. This program provides children experiencing a crisis with acute mental health assessment and stabilization within a pleasant and home-like residential environment. The goal of the program is to prevent further deterioration or the need for hospitalization or out-of-home-placement youth that do not meet the criteria for inpatient hospitalization. Also, the program works to promote family stability by providing a variety of services to meet the individualized needs of each family and youth. Each family is provided a referral or connection to aftercare services that will support their ongoing progress. Immediate assessment and crisis intervention is available 24 hours a day, seven7 days a week, by calling 817.909.1171.

TURNING POINT

This crisis intervention, acute stabilization, and family preservation program provides foster children and their caregivers with relief and therapeutic interventions that prevent hospitalizations and placement disruptions. WEDGWOOD TRANSITIONAL LIVING PROGRAM

Wedgwood offers safe, stable, and nurturing homes for youth, ages 14-17, who are unable to live with their families or in a community home setting. This program provides essential and therapeutic services in a residential setting that assists youth in gaining independent living skills in a safe and supportive environment. Youth will work toward achieving the skills required to succeed in a variety of settings. These skills may include a family foster care placement, family reunification, or a transition to independence or an independent living program.
