Lend a Hand

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month

Lend a Hand is aimed at bringing awareness and advocacy for abused and neglected children.
As Presenting Sponsor, Reliant asks everyone to advocate for our community’s most vulnerable population—its children.

A discussion on how our community is addressing child abuse--especially those victims suffering from higher levels of mental health and behavioral issues.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and Lend a Hand helps to raise awareness and inspire advocacy for abused and neglected children. During 2023 in North Texas there were over 16,000 confirmed child abuse or neglect victims. 5,332 of those children were right here in Tarrant County. In fact, Tarrant County has among the highest numbers of confirmed child abuse and neglect cases of any county in Texas. Still worse is the fact that the number of children and youth suffering from extreme aggression or complex developmental needs–and even at risk of suicide–has tripled since 2015.

Mattie Parker

Fort Worth Mayor

Child Abuse Prevention is everyone’s responsibility, and we want more people to understand how important this issue is to our community. Mayor Mattie Parker will moderate a panel discussion on how these organizations are working together to help these youth from becoming separated from families, being disruptive in school, entering the juvenile justice system, or experiencing homelessness.

Supporters can commit to learning more and taking action. Have a Heart and Lend a Hand to help us bring awareness to this important cause.
