What Is Kinship Navigator?
This ACH program is for families outside the child welfare system who are caring for a relative’s child(ren).
It offers outreach, education, and support for these families. Our staff will work to provide meaningful engagement, help, and connection to resources that may be needed, including food, clothing, and legal aid.
In many cases, kinship caregivers step in during times of crisis with little to no preparation or support. Kinship Navigator is here to walk alongside them, offering guidance and stability. We help families navigate challenges such as school enrollment, medical care, housing needs, and understanding legal rights.
Our team also provides emotional support and connection to a community of caregivers who truly understand. By empowering kinship families, we ensure children remain in safe, familiar environments and continue to thrive with the love and care of extended family.
With support from two of ACH’s programs — Kinship Navigator and Real Help for Real Life — Michal Gomez found the strength to rebuild her family and create a safe, loving home for her children.
Her journey is a powerful reminder of how hope and healing begin with support.
