Episode 12: Knowing When to Ask for Help

Meet Jeremiah.

Jeremiah never really had a room of his own. Growing up, it was just him and his mother moving from one apartment to the next. When he ran away and became homeless, Jeremiah was uncertain what his future would look like. One day while playing basketball, Jeremiah befriended an ACH resident who informed him about The LIFE Project. It was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up.

For the first time, Jeremiah’s housing was secured. He could now use his time and energy to work towards achieving self-sufficiency. The LIFE Project taught him how to prepare healthy meals, manage money, and how to cope with stress. Whenever mistakes were made, ACH was his safety net. Over time, Jeremiah learned why asking for help is an important part of growing up.

Today Jeremiah is working and saving his money for the next chapter in his life. He is confident that upon completing the program, he will have the knowledge and resources needed to live independently.

"Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Everybody needs help."
